CHURCH LUNCH - GET TO KNOW MATT RAMSEY

On Sunday, September 27, Matt Ramsey will be preaching during our morning worship service. Following the service, we will gather for a potluck lunch and take the opportunity to get to know Matt better.

As we have prayed about adding another member to our pastoral staff, we believe the Lord may have provided an excellent option in Matt. This gathering is an important opportunity for our church family to hear him preach again, hear his heart, ask questions, and get to know him as we prayerfully consider whether he is the man God would have us welcome to our pastoral staff.

Bring a dish to share sign up at the link provided and plan to stay after the service!
On a similar note, we have launched our New Staff Member fundraiser and we hope you will consider giving to it! By God's grace, we are a small church that does MANY things! But we have reached the point where if we want to continue the work we are doing and grow our reach in the future, we are going to need to hire another set of hands to help with the work.

We are asking each person to prayerfully consider what you are able to give to seeing another staff member hired. Our goal is to raise $60,000 which will pay for 1 year's salary for the new hire and give them time to get their feet under them and begin aiding, supporting, and expanding our reach. We will all need to trust God over that year to grow us and provide us with the funds to continue supporting the new hire after the first year. Would you join us in praying for who this new person might be and for God's provision in it all?

FALL EQUIP CLASSES START THIS WEEK!

Please plan to join us this Fall as we work through different resources together, encourage one another in our walks and discuss what the Lord is teaching us. We are offering 4 different classes for the Fall term. Please register ASAP so we can ensure we have enough people to run the classes.
For many people, their job is merely “the daily grind” needed to provide for family or pay the bills. Yet our work is a vital means for fulfilling God’s purpose for our lives and displaying his grace to those around us. We bear God’s image in our workplaces, experiencing his blessings and expressing his nature through our efforts, integrity, creativity, generosity, and excellence. No earthly chore is without the opportunity to observe his divine hand. No challenge in task or relationship is without opportunity to represent God’s heart.

In this book, author and pastor Bryan Chapell shares this biblical perspective of vocation, explaining how God gives purpose to our work by making it an instrument of his grace to our own hearts, as well as a way of bringing his goodness and glory into our world. Chapell explains how we can worship God by our work, rising above drudgery, duty, or self-interest with the understanding that our jobs are unique callings for displaying God’s character and care. Our work is worship when we see the glory beyond the grind, the mission in the mundane, and the grace at work.
In this class, we’ll use How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth by Gordon Fee and Douglas Stuart to learn practical tools for interpreting Scripture faithfully and confidently. Together, we’ll explore how to read different genres of the Bible, understand passages in their original context, and apply God’s Word to our lives today. Whether you’re a new believer or have been studying the Bible for years, this class will help you grow in your ability to read, understand, and delight in God’s Word.
Loving one another is a clear mark of Christ’s work among us. Learning to love your church, then, is a vital part of following Jesus and making Him known to the world. This term, we’ll work through three studies from the Love Your Church series—Gather, which explores the importance of worshiping together; Honor, which teaches us to love and serve one another as Christ’s body; and Send, which equips us to live on mission in our everyday lives. Join us as we grow in our love for Jesus Christ and His Church.
The Gospel Project follows the story of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation over the course of three years. It’s all about Jesus, and every story points back to Him. Each week, every participant—from preschoolers to adults—can study from the same section of Scripture. So, not only will adults be equipped to see Jesus in all of Scripture, but parents will be better able to engage their children in Gospel conversations based on what each age group will study each week.

NEW CLASS OPPORTUNITY COMING SOON!

What if there really was good news?

Not more life hacks.
Not another trend to follow.
Not another voice telling you how to fix yourself.

And what if the good news was a person?

A man who lived over 2,000 years ago.
Who changed the world.
Who claimed to be God.
And who still has something to say to you.

Join seven conversations about Jesus Christ –
who he is, why he came, and why he really is
the good news we’ve all been waiting for.

Come with your doubts.
Come with your questions.

You might be surprised by what you discover.
Beginning Sept 17, we will be hosting a class called Christianity Explored. Whatever your beliefs, whatever your questions or doubts, you are invited to come and join in on the discussion. We will watch a short video and have an open discussion about it. No pressure, just conversation and dialogue. Just a space to sort through your thoughts and learn from others. We hope you will join us. Register at the link below. (Please note, this class is not a part of our Sunday morning Equip classes. It is run separately at a time to be determined once we have a list of participants.)
