We're Driven by the Love of Christ
by Sermon Recap on September 28th, 2026
What truly drives us as followers of Christ? That question sits at the heart of a powerful exploration of 2 Corinthians 5:14-21, and the answer might challenge some of our assumptions about mission and purpose. It is not the mission itself that should compel us outward into the world. It is the love of Christ. Paul's declaration that the love of Christ controls us is not a passive observation. It is a thunderclap. This love is not a fleeting emotion but a sacrificial, unconditional act of the will that transformed a murderer into a missionary and a self-righteous persecutor into a selfless servant. When we grasp the weight of what Christ did on the cross, absorbing every consequence of our rebellion so that we might live, something shifts inside us. We stop living for ourselves. This message invites us to return to the foundation before we talk about going anywhere, and that foundation is the staggering, personal, inexhaustible love of Christ poured out for each of us. And as the prophet like Moses, He speaks God's words with ultimate authority. This message challenges us to examine our own dependence on God, our devotion to His Word, and our willingness to listen to Christ's voice. It reminds us that in Jesus, we have a leader who perfectly meets our deepest needs for justice, guidance, reconciliation, and truth. Read More
